Principal News
Rossville Middle/High School

 January 20, 2014

To: Students and Parents of Rossville Middle/High School

From:  Shawn McCracken, Principal of Rossville Middle/High School

At the end of the first semester, Mr.  Hoover, then the principal of Rossville High School, resigned his position. As a result of Mr.  Hoover's resignation, I have assumed the role of principal of Rossville Middle/Senior High School grades 6-12. During activity period on Tuesday, January 14th, I shared this information with the entire student body and told them of our plan moving forward. That plan is to continue, business as usual, with one principal for grades 6-12 and to hire an assistant {Dean of Students) to work with office staff and our students throughout the remainder of this school year.  That process is currently in motion and will conclude with an official hiring to be named and approved at the February 4th School Board meeting. Our intent is to name someone who is currently on staff. This will afford as smooth a transition as possible with the greatest focus on maintaining a sense of normalcy for our students.

We have all been through quite a few changes recently here at Rossville Schools.  Our mission and focus will continue to be student centered and our decisions will be made with the best interest of all students constantly in mind.

  Sincerely,

  Shawn McCracken
